Free E-Waste Recycling Event in S. Diego 10/9

It’s time again to clean out the garages, closets and storage units from unwanted and outdated computers, fax machines, copiers, monitors and televisions. The cathode tube in these electronic devices contain between 7 to 15 pounds of lead used to shield the user from harmful cathode rays. Lead is ranked as the most hazardous substance in the EPA’s Persistent Toxins List, which is known to leach into landfills where it migrates to groundwater and surrounding soils.

California Law requires that these devices must be disposed of properly and not included in trash collections. Most electronic recycling centers charge for this service, but VISION is providing it free of charge on October 9, 9am-3pm. In support of her goal, “To Transform Lives through Practical Spirituality,” Rev Patti Paris is dedicated to helping protect Mother Earth’s health by preventing toxic waste from poisoning the environment. If you know of a business that has recently upgraded their computer system, this would be a useful and inexpensive way to get rid of the old units. Visit: www.visioncsl.com
